Charles and Amy's Wedding

The Engagement

We got engaged June 22, 2003 on the summit of Seneca Rocks, West Virginia. We'd been climbing together there for several years and it is one of our favorite places. Follow this link to hear all the gory (and entertaining) details.

The Bachelor Parties

I was fortunate enough to have not one but three bachelor parties organized and carried out by various of my good guy friends. With friends like these...

The first was a great trip to Victoria, BC, Canada in which Eric and I got in two days of first-rate hiking before attending a work-related conference on Far-UV astrophysics.

The second was a week-long backpacking trip in Wyoming's incredible Wind River Range with veteran adventurers Mike and Tom featuring huge cliffs, giant moose, exciting lightning storms, and an epic tale of survival in adverse conditions.

Part 3 was a more traditional pub-crawl here in Boulder organized by Mark and attended by many and remembered clearly by some. Fortunately, there is no trip report for this one!

The three-part party saw me at my highest highs and lowest lows and many stages in between. I can rest happy in the knowledge that I've experienced the full range of bachelorhood and have no regrets about settling down and being a "responsible" husband.

The Honeymoon!

We left the day after the wedding for two incredible weeks in New Zealand. Read about it here!
